We have been so fortunate to have a lot of generous family and friends and last year we were able to donate a total of £1550 to the Special Care Baby Units at York and Leeds. They both took such good care of us while we were there, we felt that we wanted to give something back.
Also, before i left work this year due to loosing Ada i had set up a pink and blue day to mark Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day, which is 15th October. Thankfully Bekka carried on the good work for me while i was off. Thank you Bekka!! The staff donated a fantastic £91.65 through buying awareness ribbons and The Directors kindly also donated £100 to the cause! So thank you to all my colleagues, and a special thank you to The Directors at Business Internet Directory (www.businessinternetdirectory.com) for allowing me to do the fundraiser and for their generous donation.
I would also like to say thank you to Margaret and her team at Benchmark Marketing Services (www.benchmark-marketing.co.uk), pictured below wearing their ribbons.
Below are the letters we received from York and Leeds Special Care Baby Units in thanks for our donations. When i feel like a smile i like to look at them and think of the good that the money will have done for the babies they work so hard to care for.

I have removed the "donate" page from this website because i didn't get any donations. Oh well, i'm sorry SCBU at York that i couldn't get you a donation using my website, but i hope you will forgive me because i nominated you to receive a donation from Brayton Players.
Brayton Players is an amateur dramatics group i've been a part of since i was 11 years old. I am usually found treading the boards in February for the annual pantomime, but with circumstances being as they have the last few years i have been unable to participate. At the AGM though i did put the SCBU forward to receive a donation of £200, which came from the profits of this years panto Jack & The Beanstalk. Thankfully all members were in agreement and everyone is happy to see the money go to such a worthy cause!
Here's the picture from the Selby Times and that's me on the far left. I don't know why they said i was from the unit, because i just accepted it on behalf of, but it's still fab. :o)
The real cheque (not the big one) is winging its way to you as i type!
